Schools Coaching Program Course

The Schools Coaching Program (SCP) is a new initiative run by WA Ultimate to teach and upskill new coaches. The accreditation will prepare coaches to implement Ultimate lessons to student players in a primary and high school environment.

Are you looking for a little bit of extra cash? Or maybe you're interested in coaching Ultimate? Maybe you'd like to be the reason a student started playing Ultimate? Or are your a teacher who wants to learn how to teach Ultimate? Whatever the reason, WA Ultimate often have regular paid work opportunities, delivering in-school sessions.

Completition of this course will allow you to be casually employed by WA Ultimate to conduct coaching sessions at various primary and high schools throughout Perth.

Date: Saturday, 10 March 2018
Time: 9:00am - 12:00pm (3 hours)
Location: Beatty Park Oval - Cnr of Charles & Vincent Streets, North Perth WA 6006
Cost: FREE!

Please note a minimum of 8 Registrants must be met for the course to go ahead, if this number is not met, the course will be postponed.

As a pre-requisite to the course, you will be required to complete your Community Coaching General Principles through Aus Sports Commission:

From this training you will receive:
- WA Ultimate Schools Coaching Accreditation
- WA Ultimate Schools Coaching Resource Book
- A Working With Childrens Check ($11*)

This entry level course focuses on a small set of fundamental individual and team skills needed to get beginners playing Ultimate. The course includes how to throw, how to play Ultimate and many other disc games. It also includes coaching support information such as; class management, safety and risk management, discipline, student interaction and more.

Note: This course is largely different to the AFDA NCAS Level 1 course which does not focus on preparing coaches to implement Ultimate lessons to student players in a school environment.
