Ultimate Australia Coaching Courses
Ultimate Australia provides formal coach education through nationally accredited coach courses.
Currently, Ultimate Australia offers the following accreditations:
- Level 1 - Community Coach Course
- Level 2 - Development Coach Course
Ultimate Australia Level 1 Community Coach Course
The Level One Community Coaching Course can be completed at your own pace.
No previous experience as a player is required to take part in this course, nor is any prior knowledge of coaching.
To achieve your UA Community Coach Certificate, you must complete (in any order):
- Six online modules and final quiz (Approx. 2 hours)
- WFDF Rules Accreditation – Standard (or higher qualification). (Approx. 10 mins)
- ASC Community Coaching General Principles. (Register as a Flying Disc Coach. Approx. 2.5 hours)
- Play by the Rules – Child Protection Online Course. (Approx. 1 hour)
Note: You will need to upload your certificates for each of these co-requisite requirements, in Module 7 of this online course.
Participants must be at least 15 years old to become accredited.
Assessment:
- At the end of each module, there is a short quiz to test understanding.
- At the end of the course, there is a quiz to test understanding
- Participants can attempt these quizzes as many times as necessary.
- Participants must achieve a 100% mark on each quiz to receive their certificate.

Pricing: This course is valued at $37.99 but is currently being provided to community coaches free of charge.
Ultimate Australia Level 2 Development Coach Course
The Ultimate Australia Development Coach Course is for coaches working with competitive Ultimate athletes and teams.
In particular, this course is tailored for coaches of Division 2 nationals teams, University teams, Under-18 State teams, or Under-22 State teams.
This course features a blended approach to learning, including online and face-to-face components.
Entry Pre-requisites
To access these modules – you must have completed the following pre-requisite requirements:
- Community Coach Accreditation (Level 1) or Recognition of Current Competency
- 20 hours of coaching after completion of the Community Coach course. Download UA Coaching Logbook.
- WFDF Rules Accreditation – Advanced.
Accreditation Requirements
To achieve your UA Development Coach qualification, you must complete:
- Play by the Rules – Inclusive Coaching Online Course
- Sport Integrity Australia – Clean Sport 101 Course
- Successful completion of both Online and Face to Face components of this course
Participants must be at least 15 years old to become accredited.

Pricing: The online component of this course is valued at $39.99 but is currently being provided to development coaches for $34.99
Further payment will be required for the face-to-face component of the course (the cost will be available from the WA Flying Disc Association when these courses run).
WA Ultimate Accredited Programs:
Schools Coaching Program
The Schools Coaching Program (SCP) is a new initiative run by WA Ultimate to teach and upskill new coaches. The accreditation will prepare coaches to implement Ultimate lessons to student players in a primary and high school environment.
Are you looking for a little bit of extra cash? Or maybe you're interested in coaching Ultimate? Maybe you'd like to be the reason a student started playing Ultimate? Or are you a teacher who wants to learn how to teach Ultimate? Whatever the reason, WA Ultimate often have regular paid work opportunities, delivering in-school sessions.
Completion of this course will allow you to be casually employed by WA Ultimate to conduct coaching sessions at various primary and high schools throughout Perth.
